Weh Island
The 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami was hugely disruptive to life on this island, But fortunately the recovery process was smooth and quick. Thankfully, the disaster has not stopped travelers and tourists from visiting pulau weh and enjoying its beaches. diving in pulau Weh’s crystal-clear waters still promises rich coral reefs that host a plethora of fish and other marine life.
The Island hosts around 20 dive sites, home to rare marine life like the frogfish, star gazers and gurnards, and larger pelagic life like mantas, whale shark and mola mola that also come here to feed deep volcanic pinnacles to large boulders on sandy slopes, craggy walls and coral gardens. Pulau weh offers some of the finest diving in indonesia and is suitable for all levels of experience.
